Ventac and HEAD Acoustics have teamed up!

Ventac has invested in HEAD acoustics test equipment.

Ventac Group and HEAD acoustics are delighted to announce we have teamed up in our acoustic engineering mission. Ventac has invested in HEAD acoustics top of the range test equipment and sound analysis tools. Ventac has for many years worked to be a one stop shop for acoustic solutions. Ventac vehicle noise team has worked with a diverse range of OEM’s, particularly large passenger vehicles (such as buses, coaches) or off-road vehicles (forklifts, construction / mining vehicles). Ventac’s acoustic team have engaged in a partnership approach with these companies’ engineering teams to design and supply the best possible acoustic solutions.

The rise of electric vehicles across all markets means that the acoustic challenge is now about sound quality instead of overall levels. HEAD acoustics, who are positioned at the cutting edge of sound quality analysis, were a great fit to tackle this new set of acoustic challenges.

HEAD acoustics’ tools allow for the precision and rapid sound quality analysis of complicated noise sources. The HEAD acoustics’ analysis tools are designed to objectively measure and present the different acoustics criteria as the human ear actually perceives the sound. Tonality for example is becoming one of the most important acoustic criteria in electric vehicles yet standard methods for assessing it are woefully limited. HEAD acoustics analysis allows for rapid measurement of this parameter even in dynamic conditions. The representation of these results are both objective and intuitive.

The playback features and digital filtering are other key tools to get to grips with increasingly complicated noise problems. The digital filtering (or Photoshop for noise) can allow Ventac to not only estimate noise reduction of its solutions but create a sound file of predicted levels. For example, we can create an audio file of how a vehicle will sound after a noise wrap is fitted to its electric motor.

It is not only about vehicle acoustics, understanding and improving sound quality is becoming ever more important in environmental noise, domestic machinery and the workplace. The intrusiveness of noise is not just about level; impulsiveness, speech intelligibility, roughness etc… can all be important to engineer a more comfortable environment.

We know there is a whole new set of acoustic challenges out there and we think this is a big step towards finding the solutions to them.

At Ventac, we are committed to delivering exceptional service and technical expertise to all of our international clients. Reliability, expertise and exceptional customer service is at the core of Ventac and our expertise of the Vehicle and Industrial Noise Control markets ensures we can provide high performance acoustic solutions for every application.
